The Wise Practices Gathering provides opportunities for multi-directional learning, capacity building, networking, reflection, and sharing new and innovative integrated and end-of- project research results. Focusing on issues of importance to Aboriginal and Indigenous Peoples, this is a unique event that highlights research by us and for us. Over the course of two-days, delegates participate in workshops and panel discussions that emphasize community-based research skill development, Knowledge Transfer and Exchange opportunities, and dissemination of research findings. Sessions that highlight the lived experiences of HIV and AIDS in the Aboriginal community are offered as well as opportunities to contribute to CAAN’s research undertakings. A feast and cultural ceremonies are integrated throughout the event. This reflects Wise Practices for engaging in research with Aboriginal and Indigenous Peoples and respects the territory where we will be gathering. All are welcome and cultural exchanges are encouraged.
